Retirement is Fun
It has been a busy week for me. Last Friday was my last day at the bookstore. It was decidedly uneventful. Showed up, opened some boxes, handed over my keys, went home. Most of the people I will miss are already gone, so no big deal. Two and a half years, a long time. Oh well.
I heard on the news there was a shootout of some kind at the mall. Some windows blasted out or something. Figures, as soon as I leave it gets interesting.
I am busy packing and getting ready for school. I am pretty excited, should be fun. It is tricky deciding what I need to bring and what can fit in my car. I am still not sure what classes I am going to take, but I want to take at least five. Going to try not to come home for at least a month.
I played D&D with the kids on Monday, was a good time. Probably will be my last session with them for a while. Here's a sketch of Mourn, South Park style.

I've been getting some reading done. I finished Memoirs of a Geisha, it was pretty good. Definitely a chick book, however. I read the first book in Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Marturin series, Master and Commander, and it was great! It's an excellent adventure story that just reeks of authenticity. And it has fun violence - which is always good. Anxiously waiting for amazon to deliver the second one, Post Captain. I am currently reading the Poet, by Michael Connelly. It is cool so far.
