Shave and a Haircut

I hacked off my beard today in an attempt to appear more civilized. I don't think it worked. Oh well. Maybe a haircut will do the trick.

Yesterday, I saw Superman Returns and it really surprised me by not sucking.

Love That Dirty Water

So they have been digging up the street replacing all the water pipes. For the past week we have been getting our water from this hose that they had hitched up, and just today they pulled the hose and switched back on the normal water. And take a look at that lovely yellow/brown water. Fresh out of the tap. Mmm, tasty. Oh, and just to let you know, this picture was taken after the water had cleaned up considerably. Good times.

I saw An Inconvenient Truth today, and I'll sum it up by saying we're screwed.

I Talk Funny

I talk funny. Every time I hear my voice on a recording I wonder who the hell it is. I have no idea what the hell kind of accent I have. It’s like a fucked up Boston accent with a dash of the Irish and a bit of Californian rapper. I say things like “cah” for “car” and “eye dear” of “idea,” with a splattering of “yo”s and “word"s, all punctuated with “dude” or “man.” I blame the TV. Fucking TV. I need another beer.

Later.

Weird Signs

I have seen the signs, and they are strange.

I have been going a little stir crazy, so I have been wandering around town taking pictures of random stuff. And there is ton of really random stuff out there. Like the sign with the brain-thing on it. What the hell is that? And "TO BE INFINITE"? What would compel someone to spraypaint that onto the sidewalk? Why? Is it supposed to inspire or confuse someone? My curiousity has been piqued.

So anyways, since I don't have a real job at the moment I have been getting a lot of reading done. I finished Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell and I really liked it. It's sort of like a slightly more adult Harry Potter. Diamond Dogs, Turquoise Days was also very good. Click the links and read my reviews, if you want to. Be a sport and click on some ads after you are done, eh? Thanks.

Peace out.

Dreams of Fire.

I have recurring dreams of nuclear war. I am usually looking out at Boston and I can see a mushroom cloud, but I never seem to get incinerated. Good times.

Growing up in the 80s, one thing that left a big impression on me was that there are hundreds of missiles pointed at the United States, waiting to kill me and everyone I know at the push of a button. Those missiles are still pointed at me, I am sure, but now it is the terrorists who are going to nuke us.

Some days, I want someone to push that button and just get rid of humanity. Its been that kind of week.

The Sun, It Burns!

After 40 days and 40 nights of goddamn rain, it is finally sunny again! And it will never rain again! Woo Hoo!

Apocalypse Now?

Today was an awesome day for an apocalypse. The sun was shining, the weather was warm and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. Unfortunately, the world appears to have survived 6/6/06 relatively unscathed. Oh well. Maybe next time.

I went out this afternoon to see the remake of The Omen. It was decent enough. Check out my review.

Read an interesting article here that says caffeine can make you more agreeable. Interesting stuff. Maybe I am so goddamn easy to get along with because of all the coffee I drink :)
